We – Buckle-Up Productions and Gerd Haegele as producers
of the DVD - are looking for distribution partners worldwide
with well established distribution networks for educational
media.
The educational DVD covers the basics of coral reef ecology
together with a summary of their ecological, economical and
social value and the main factors that are threatening them
on a regional and on a global scale. It is currently available
in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (containing English and
German language versions) and soon also in the United Kingdom,
Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. The effects of global
warming and ocean acidification play an important role and
are covered among others by interview with leading experts:
Prof. Ove Hoegh-Guldberg (Director of the Centre for Marine
Studies at The University of Queensland) and Dr. Paul Marshall
(Director of the department climate change at the Great Barrier
Reef Marine Park Authority). The DVD contains more than 45
minutes of video filmed in Australia and the Philippines plus
8 minutes of extra interviews with It also contains work-
and info-sheets as pdfs.
